Lion Pride with Horatio

Horatio Elementary school felt that the best way to build community within their school while still creating separate house systems that their students could belong to was to utilize their mascot, a lion.

Students show their Lion Pride with their House Names. Horatio Elementary likes to remind its students that a “pride of lions” is considered a family unit. Creating these families (houses) as famous Lion character names, from movies like the Lion King or Madagascar, has motivated the students to encourage each other, stick together and hold each other accountable for their positive behavior and academic success.
